While I was searching for a landmark Congee place in Hong Kong, I came to find Law Fu Kee Noodle Shop. When I was trying to find Law Fu Kee, a fishy odor immediately caught my attention and voila, there was the Law Fu Kee I’d read so much about.
Fried Wontons saved the day. If it weren’t for these crunchy wontons with bits and pieces of shrimps embedded in the middle, I probably would have left the restaurant. Congee with beef slices was painfully plain, I couldn’t believe how flavors escaped the bowl without leaving a trace. I had to commit the ultimate sin after all-I poured soy sauce all over it to justify this bowl of nothing.
How is this possible? Frankly, I have had better at IFC’s Tasty Congee and Noodle.
